"New German Cinema: the pictures of a Generation" explores the context from that the films created by Fassbinder, Wenders, Herzog, von Trotta et al emerged throughout the late Sixties through to the mid-1980s. Oberhausen Manifesto was a impassioned manifesto which was signed by 26 filmmakers during the eigth annual Oberhausen Short film festival dated in February 1962. There has been lots of criticism to contemporary German cinema and seeks for a new type of feature films with a complete freedom.
